In 2013, we were involved in a review to consider the future cooperation of all the organisations involved in intensive care in the UK. The aim of the review was for these organisations to work together to:
- improve the care of critically ill patients;
- reduce duplication of effort and resource;
- enhance support for the families/friends of critically ill patients.
Our input into this review is summarised in the document available to download “Collaborating for Quality – ICNARC paper”.
A key change that we made as a result of this review was to alter our existing process for managing requests for access to Case Mix Programme data. We have established an independent Data Access Advisory Group to assist us in reviewing and making decisions on applications for access to the data.
