Dataset top tip: Pre-hospital arrests

What is and what is not classed as a pre-hospital arrest

From 1 April 2018, pre-hospital arrests are no longer included in the NCAA scope, which is now as follows: Any resuscitation event commencing in-hospital where an individual receives chest compression(s) and/or defibrillation and is attended by the hospital-based resuscitation team (or equivalent) in response to a 2222 call.

To provide some clarity around what is and what is not classed as a pre-hospital arrest, and whether or not you should record a team visit record for an event, the NCAA Team have created the flowchart below which is also available to download in pdf format.
If you have any questions or comments, please contact the NCAA Team.
