The Clinical Trials Unit (CTU) team works to ensure the delivery of high quality research to improve the outcomes and care of critically ill patients.
The CTU Director has overall responsibility for the CTU and works with the CTU Manager on setting the strategic direction of the CTU, including developing research studies that are relevant to patients and their families, clinicians, managers and commissioners.
The Programme Manager has overall responsibility for the day-to-day management of our existing research and development of the CTU infrastructure to ensure that we continue to deliver high-quality research. The Programme Manager works with the CTU Director on setting the strategic direction of the CTU.
The Trial/Study Managers have primary responsibility and lead on the day-to-day management of specific research studies. They manage the day-to-day needs of the participating hospitals and ensure that project milestones and timelines are met. The Trial/Study Managers are the main contact point for hospitals participating in our research.
The Data Managers' roles are to ensure that accurate high quality data are provided for all of our research studies. The Data Managers also look at our underlying technical systems for ways to continually improve the quality of data, products and processes of our research studies.
The Research Assistants/Administrators provide day-to-day support for our research studies. They assist with managing the day-to-day needs of participating hospitals and coordinating longer-term patient follow-up.
