Participation
The Irish National Intensive Care Unit Audit (INICUA) is open to all publicly funded and independent sector adult critical care units in the Republic of Ireland, including general units along with specialist units (e.g. Cardiothoracic, Neurosciences). A list of participating units is available at the bottom of the page.
Why participate?
Benefits of participation include:
- standardised rules, definitions and extensive quality checking to ensure meaningful benchmarking between units in the Republic of Ireland and those participating in the UK Case Mix Programme (CMP)
- analysis reports on nationally recognised quality indicators, such as delayed discharges, unit-acquired infections and risk-adjusted mortality (see example report below)
- highlighting of areas for improvement and successes in the delivery of care
- support from NOCA and ICNARC throughout the audit process
- an abundance of resources including manuals, webinars, training workshops and a team of dedicated Data Coordinators
- networking with the critical care community at in-person events
